                | Temptations Stopped the Tempo {Lyrics}

There's nothing like your drunken stares
 You kids would never understand
My stomach drops and turns and turns
This pen shakes out of hand
 Answer, answer
 Guess what you are!
 Nothing but a drunken scar

 Memories plagued with falling stars
and screaming til my throat bleeds
but you refused to give heed
Gain the way of lying sons
 and broken answers of exaggeration
You were never worth my time
 Nor my wavering executions
of attempts to help and save and live
and all you did was give and give
 Yourself that satisfaction

 So please, oh please
Rot that liver a little more
until you fall down on this floor
Turn out your light before the sun
So you can rot more peacefully
Oh, I'll watch you rot peacefully

On that floor is where you belong
and I have known this all along:
You never meant a word you said
You never cared but for your dead
You killed the lives of many more
Just through teaching them your ways
Why'd they want to be like you?
 Answer, answer, if you please.
This time my guess goes down to me.

                | What is it?
Regularly seen yellow, black, or gray
It is very poisonous to our dismay.
Very similar to its upstairs neighbor phosphorous
Used by royal kings to kill
 Their commands it would fulfill.
Also, eaten and rubbed to improve complexion
By women in fields to have a nice reflection.
Used in insecticides, herbicides, paints, and dyes back then,
Now used as wood preserver and medicine time and time again.
Released from volcanoes coming from the earth
This is how this metalloid has its birth.
It is solid at room temperature and can turn to gas.
 It has a 74.92160 g/mol mass.
It melts at 1137 degrees Fahrenheit.
 Wow! That’s a great height!
Represents the number 33 in the periodic table,
 This is no fable.
Across group 15 and down group 4
 We find the famous Arsenic!

                | I am arsenic, half dead and cold as a stone, I'll burn your guts and crush your bone.
If I should venture, corruption would spread.
No one should approach the living dead!

I am a poison - a knife in your guts.

I need to be blameless, disguise my sin,
I need to have a hide for a skin!
I need to be tidy, need to be clean,
need to have my best efforts seen.

                | I am a shiny element attractive to all. No one knows who discovered me, except the fool in ancient cultures who I killed.
 I am silver and solid.
 I am a killer
I make plants thrive and bugs die.
I have killed many from kings to the poorest of the poor.
I also look cool on tv shows when they find out i am the main suspect.
I am an excellent conductor of energy.
 My favorite number is 33
When cooked I smell like garlic. perfect in your pasta.
I hope you enjoy your meal
My name is arsenic, nice to meet you.

                | Arsenic, you’re in a solid phase And you harm people in many ways

You hide out in people’s water
And poison and kill many daughters

You are used in many insecticides
You roll over corn fields in tides

 Brothers poisoned brothers with you
To become king, only they knew

 You are metallic and crystal
And as deadly as a pistol

Arsenic stay in the earths crust
When exposed to air, you will rust

                | I took her coat and flashed her a smile.
 Behind said smile
 was hate and guile.

 She made me so mad.
 I haterd her so.
 Why did she come?
 Why won't she go?

 I have her a cup,
 filled it with tea.
 The steam rose
 and floated towards me.

 "Don't Drink it yet!"
 I said very plainly.
 "I'll get you some sugar!"
 Leaving and laughing insanely.

 She took a sip;
 her heart gave a kick.
 She never found out
 she had drunk arsenic.

                | Arsenic
 Bite after bite
I’ll be the temptress of poison
 Your silken seducer
Let me carry you to wasteland
 I swear it won't hurt
 Tinged with a promise
 The sting of pleasure
 Dripping and coursing
 A velvety pain
 Swiftly flows
 Swiftly kills
 Another name for your list
 Another notch on my bedpost

 the arsenic
cordially greets him in his afternoon tea:
 nothing personal
but you have money they want, or so I’ve heard
drink up quick - that’s the ticket
(2 sugars, I believe: they know your habits well)
slowly, slowly: I was meant for the rats
and you. You cannot say I do not do my job properly, but, like I said
 nothing personal
cheer up – I am silent at least:
 an invisible sigh
 slowly robbing your breath
will you suffer? I fancy not, but I wouldn’t really
know, now would I: oh look! Here’s your tea again
nice and hot – see, they aren’t forgetting you, how nice
 eventually
you will be near the end
 and they will all crowd
 like vultures around your deathbed
 (terribly sorry about that, chap)
 and then
 I don’t suppose you’d care to remember
that I am also used to improve the sphericity
 of metal shot
No? pity, but no great loss:
there are plenty more afternoon teas out there
for me to attend (uninvited of course)
and I’m sure the funeral will be splendid

                | O! Arsenic you are so sweet! When with my lover's lips you meet!
I will hide, watch & wait,
To see my lover's morbid fate.
O! Arsenic you gave to me,
what my lover could never see!
That I just need to be free,
 Arsenic! So dear to me!

                | Asenic can kill some rats, And poison pests the size of bats,
But if you take it as a snack,
You'll find that's the end of that.

 Please don't eat the Arsenic,
 You read and write,
 Your brain is quick,
Give it some time you won't be sick,
Think of how you would be missed,
The world needs all our scientists.

 Arsenic is fast and quiet,
Except in traces in your diet,
Then it's slow, but quite a riot,
Your hate can end soon if you go buy it.

                | Scientist left alone In this desolate lab.
 The arsenic is sitting there,
 Calling my name.
 How much would it take
To end this pain and shame?
 I don't want any fame,
But the arsenic wants to play this game.

Arsenic comes in salt form now.
 A teaspoon a day.
 You put it on yourself.

Who knew that liberation came this easy?

 Allotropic gray arsenic
 sublimes. Which means,
 that cremation of the corpse
 at high temperatures, six-hundred
 and thirteen centigrade,
hides my crimes. And of lace?
 There is no trace,
 elementally.
