The touch of gold brings a shiver to my spine
When i think about it, it makes me feel divine
with a little bit of light it will shine
The word gold makes me fall into the heaven above
gold is the true meaning of a real love
There are those who think of it as a symbol of power
I can prove you that is wrong, in this very hour
Gold has been a beauty in the present and past.
Think about the future, will the beauty still last?
Or will it just be a money making machine?
Think about it and take a while to redeem
Love it or hate it, it remains with you
Dont try to run from it, it's like a contagious flu.
Gold is the greatest element ever to exist
Maybe thats why I chose to write about it
Gold can bring or break apart a soul
You can gain a friend or lose one that in your life had a major role
Some things remain unsaid
Although I can say, treat gold right or you can be caught dead

Everyone’s familiar with the element gold
For no matter what year, it never gets old.
Its yellow, shiny surface is very pretty,
But it’s too expensive and soft to be used to make cities.
So instead it is used in necklaces, bracelets, and rings
And also in the coins that people used to use to buy things.
No one knows who discovered gold
For people have cherished it since the days of old.
Ancient Egyptians buried gold in their tombs
As part of their fine and ornate costumes.
Many stories have also been told about Au
Like the one about good, old King Midas who
Had the ability to turn anything to gold just with a touch.
But is it harder to make gold than that? Yes, much.
Gold must be extracted from the ground
After it has finally been found.
Gold has been around for thousands of years
And will be around for thousands more still. Cheers!

My name is Gold, My atomic number is 79, and my Symbol is Au
I am usually yellow
But occasionally ruby or black
I’m to delicate to be handled alone,
So I'm usually alloyed with copper or silver,
I have been around forever,
I was the said to be the first metal ever used,
I am the most popular metal
I was used by the Egyptian faros as decoration
Evil, that is half of me
I have been used in the Book of Exodus as the Golden Calf
Communist propaganda is what Mao used me for
Good, that is my other half
Abraham used me in the Book of Genesis
And I am used as awards, Golden Globes, 1st place medal, etc…

Gold you are beauty and worth.
Receive your accolades and be esteemed!
Being dutiful is the passport
to your valued plot upon this Earth.
Oh
how
mightily
you have fallen and crashed!
A broken heart
the consequence
of friendships and values smashed.
Death, the only option
where honour lies gashed.

TESTING THE BEST
The Book of Daniel was composed about the year 165 BC. Chapter VII was one of the earliest visions or dreams of an apocalyptic nature, composed during the Maccabean revolt of the Jews against the Greeks. There are four beasts in the vision, symbolic of four world powers who would rule in Israel until the time of the end: Seleucid-Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman, Western.-With thanks to Norman Cohn, The Pursuit of the Millennium, Granada Publishing Co., 1970(1957), London, for a helpful overview of millennarianism over two millennia.
All these biblical verses are so arguable,
aren’t they Norman? The four beasts
have been given such different names
as men have sought/thought the millenium,
the time of the end, a golden age,
a messianic kingdom, the last days.
He would come, it said in Daniel,
with the clouds of heaven,
with power and great glory
and to the Ancient of Days...
And there was given him
dominion, and glory,
a kingdom, that all peoples,
nations and languages
should serve him.*
This is no fantasy, some obscure
revolutionary eschatology, although
it has been since 165 BC,
this is the New Jerusalem,
the kingdom of the saints,
the beginning of the kingdom,
millennarianism’s true home,
after such a tortured road,
most people got lost by the wayside.
Absorbed in some tradition or
heresy, cult, sect, ism or wasm:
egalitarian, communistic,
self-immolating, peasant revolt,
urban insurrection, all elaborating,
interpreting, vulgarizing
the apocalyptic lore to transform
and save history, in cataclysm,
in quasi-religious salvationism,
deviant medieval mysticism,
self-divinization and anarchism
in secular dress: it is not surprising
you missed it since it grew up quietly
in an orgy of violence and complexity
that would test the best as it still is doing.

A Golden Warning
Throughout history men have searched for me
Hoping to find their own kind of money tree
Stories and legends told of streets paved
Only to discover me caved
In dirt and rocks with other metal,
In rivers I sometimes settle
In 1849 there was quite a rush
To obtain a life of “lush”
In modern times I am mined
In greed, men are at times blind
Hoping for some “aurum”
People lacked decorum
In mixes with other elements
My value leads to big arguments
At twenty-four carats I’m pure
Your money I used to ensure
But before you invest
In your own golden quest
At quite a high price
Remember Robert Frost’s advice:
“As dawn goes down to day
Nothing gold can stay”

Gold
Gold is like the sun setting in the west
Like gold pepers of fire
flickering in hte night
Draping around and icing the body of people
in a form of jewlery
Not only is it gorgeous
And made for show
BUt it helps to heal
Its helpping hand
To be a cure for cancer
Its shimmering yellow(butter)
Is a lure
Can be found in a solid state
In a river
Or a far away lake
From California, Nevada, to Siberia and all over
Its a gift from many
And worth more then a penny
When a guy gets on one knee
It makes the girl happy
With the shimmering shine
Rflecting in her eye

You are so popular gold
Thats why you're easily sold
Your yellow, shiny surface is bright and bold
You come from ancient times, but you never get old
In other countries I use you to buy things
And even to make dental fillings
Commonly purchased by many kings
You can be obtained through mining's
196.9 is your total mass
And you're definitely a solid not a gas
Your atomic number of 79 is not last
Because you are considered of high class
Although you're discoverer is not known
You've been around since the making of tombstones
Your value has always been shown
And you will forever be owned |

King Midas had a wish
to turn things into gold.
But when he kissed his daughter
she froze right there like stone.
They say the King repented
as he was filled with fright.
Truth is he couldn't spend her
cause she was all pyrite.
Still Midas loved his daughter,
and consulted with the queen.
Since daughter was rebellious
they'd skipped her years of teen.
And though Midas got no money
from his wish of gold.
He kept his daughter frozen
till she was 20 years old.

The gold around my finger,
hanging around my neck,
around my wrist and in my ears,
Gold from my ancesters,
a necklace from my grandma,
a ring from my aunt,
earrings from my great-grandma,
and bracelets from my mom.
Gold is the yellow that jingles and shines,
Gold is the yellow every girl likes to wear,
Gold is the yellow that matches my hair.
Some people like yellow gold,
some like white and yellow combined,
some like just white.
I love gold,
every kind of it,
but its the gold and diamonds around my finger,
I'll cherish forever. |

Gold
Your image
One to behold
Your worth
Economies unfold
A steal
When not bought and sold
Your weight
Heavy to hold
Your feel
Smooth and cold
Worn often
Beaten and rolled
Your colour
Not yellow -- but GOLD |

Gold
Necklaces, bracelets,
A crown for a king,
Statues, and coins,
And engagement rings.
These things are precious;
Therefore made by gold.
For thousands of dollars
Are these treasures sold.
Gold is our standard
For value and worth,
For just about everything
On this earth.
Many do hunger
And thirst for this treasure,
Whose value and beauty
Surpass all measure.
Gold has been seeked
For ages upon ages,
The object that started
Many of men's rages.
Called wars, these rages
Were raged over gold,
And the hunger for gold
Which affects all -- young and old.
Possession begets greed,
And greed begets folly,
Though some may think gold
Would merely be jolly.
Therefore let not gold
Become your idol.
Such a dependence
Would be suicidal.
Gold cannot
Supply all your needs.
To trust only in gold
Is an awful misdeed. |

Over A Ring
Time, she said to me
Would fly by so quickly.
I took her word and her hand,
Woke up in a foreign land.
Better then a tub of ice,
With a phone?, she said.
I lifted her hand, just right.
Belched at her head.
Yeah, that's real gold.
Perfect health and a good head
Everything I need, I said.
But out of all the things
She wants a 24K ring. |

Gold
I would give you gold
If you were by my side
And hold you in my arms
If you feel a chill
Coldness creeping
I will warm you
Hold you on a pedestal
Made of purest gold
I would cry
Tears of gold
If you were ever to leave me |

Gold
Au is the symbol for gold,
a treasure that's vividly bold.
The atomic number is 79,
how I wish it were all mine.
The atomic weight is 196.967,
it makes me fell like i'm in heaven.
An element, a color, a record, and a heart.
Each of these need another part.
Now gold as an element is great all alone.
The color of gold is the best shade or tone.
A gold record is spectacular I'm told.
But nothing compares to a heart made of gold! |
