Phosphorus

Fiery Phosphorus

A waxy, white metal is Phosphorus.
Unfortunately, it's not good for us.
In large amounts it may cause a concern,
Since it is your skin it will probably burn.
Store it in water, it's reactive in air,
And when it explodes you will surely despair.
With Calcium it is not all that bad,
Little in your body will make you sad.
Discovered by Brand in 1669,
He extracted it from urine.
After this info you have to agree,
When you see some Phosphorus you should flee.
By Danny Salevitz

Phosphorus

Glows in the dark,
Waxy and white
In normal light
It gives neon it’s colors
Of blue green and more
Colorless and clear
When in its pure form
By Sydney Smith

A Triple Haiku

Phosphorus, used by
Arthur Conan Doyle in his
book about a dog

far fetched, a hound that
glows in the dark, but still I
shiver when I think

of a great beast who
snarls in darkness, brings light
to illumine death
By Sarah Eckenboy

Phosphorus , floating on the sea
As we walk just you and me
Can't you see it's dim glow,
touch the water,
see it's so!
Phosphorus, so often forgotten
and not so common, as is cotton
But phosphourus,
you are to me,
my glowing reminder of the sea!
By Ashley Anne Whittemore

phosphorus

mutter mashing sicker pallow
waking from the storm watch
wears a tickling time womb
featherbitten turban she scream
wound thickly round
an eggshell cozied, oozing
from a pinprick at the crown
jewels burnished bruise of slightly
tainting seaweed stricken hair
knotted wetly through some toes
digging cramped into a stretch
aesthetic exorcism
thus, the dampness of a more
eeling cross the ducts of eine
colophonic revelations sold for sand
raveled clockwork incandescence
drowning in his lunar sea
scaly iridescent flashes
silent minnow gargling
habituous diva tragically vibrant
wrapped in fleshy bedbug
moaning through my pores
By iris blake
