Lead

The periodic table will help you find
Elements of different kinds
82 protons and electrons be
126 neutrons is what you see
Metallic element is what you’ve found
To find knowledge you are bound

Atomic weight just happens to be 207.2 you see
Atomic mass of 82
Plus a color of whitish blue
These are the features that identify me
But there’s more you must know
And more you must see

My origin of funny names
Plumbum or protos have all the fame
You know me best, or scientists do
The initials Pb will present me to you

How I was found is not well known
My uses for man, oh how they’ve grown
Inventors discovered many ways indeed
To use me daily as you need
Paints, technology, batteries and more
Are some of the uses I have in store

But caution’s required when I am in force
For death may occur if you take the wrong course.

And now that you’ve heard all I’ve said
I’ll tell you my name
My name is lead.

For my chemistry report I read
All about the element called Lead
We often mistakenly think
That is it our pencil’s ink
But instead
We use graphite, not Lead.
It used to be used for pipes
But due to slow poisoning
Our government had logical reasoning
And no longer can we use lead
For water pipes or paint
Now Lead is used as a shield
To protect us from nuclear yield
My final fact to you
Is that Lead’s atomic number is 82.

Blyet er tungt og bøjeligt lige som en statsminister
og i smeltet form også ret klistret
jeg har det i min sko jeg har det i min gane
det indeholdes på min fane
det er i en lås
når man klasker en mås.

Lead

Buckshot of time past,
Ducks are falling right and left.
Don't eat the paint chips.

Gold

i'm counting on gold to get me through
when the final thread unravels
and the tide won't stop rising
and gunmen walk the streets
and love is left behind
(cause it was too heavy to carry)
gold, i mean it! i'm counting on you!
please don't let me down.

Lead

got no love for lead
hear what i said?
don't keep a brother fed
just lay there like it dead

LEAD TO GOLD

As if I could forget you
its easier said than done.
I could better make lead
to gold then turn around and run.
Before Love found us my heart
was heavy and forlorn.
My very soul yearned emotion its fabric roughly torn.
With you I've found the chemistry a magic to behold.
And with that wonderous find I realize lead can be gold.
