A tenuous blade of chromium-54 ions
grinds across the whirling bismuth cylinder
From this atomic whetstone, sparks fly:
six lonely, precious Bohrium atoms
The IUPAC feels Bohrium
shouldn't be called Nielsbohrium.
And though they're not inclined to be violent
please don't forget the 'h' is silent.

Neilsborium, the wallflower at the parties
You can’t catch a break
From your name to the ladies
Always wearing plaid
And you disappear—like that!
Neilsborium, so sad, you changed your name to Bohrium
Still boring, still dumb
Made by chemists just for fun
Quite useless in your own way
Nobody gives a damn about you
Become a beat-nick
Or sell some shoes
