Nickel

Nickel was found by Baron Axel Fredrick Cronstedt in 1751.
It is a metallic chemical element belonging to the group of iron.
It sits above Palladium on the periodic table of the elements.
This silvery white metal is even used to make cents.
It claims the symbol Ni
And until the 1970’s was never really recognized.
Nickel is magnetic, though the coin it makes is not.
At 2651° Farenheight, Nickel has become too hot.
It’s atomic number of twenty-eight
Places it in group ten with elements of similar weight.
Nickel has become a very important element.
Without it, our five-cent coins would be absent!

Nickel is Interesting, if I may say.
It has a weird but fascinating background as well.
Its name, Nickel, means "devil" in German, can you tell?
Axel Fredrick Constedt, weird name don't you think?
He discovered a very important metal, which
Is now foil, pipes, armor, and many other useful things too!
Nickel boils at 5275F, and melts at 2651F, WHEW!
Now that's what I call fierce!
Although strong and resistant, Nickel is very pretty too.
It is a white metal that takes on a high polish, fool!
Appearing to be lustrus, metallic and even have a silvery
tinge,
Nickel is hard, malleable, ductile, ferromagnetic,
And a conductor of heat and elecricity too!
The most fascinating thing about Nickel,I think,
Is that it is found in most meteorites;
And to me, that is Out of this World!

Nickel
Is
Completely the best element
Keeps
Everything
Luminous in color

It's characteristics are one of a kind
Silvery white with an atomic number of 28

German is it's origan
Really meaning "Old Nick", a name for the devil
Everything revolves around Nickel
And even our five cent coin!
Thank you, Mr. Axel Fredrik Cronstedt

There's an element that's very important to us all these different uses we need to assess Discovered by a Swede named Axel He was looking for copper when he found nickel It means Old Nick This truly was a very unique and diverse metal a lot is believed to have come from a meteor if you add it to glass it will give a green color It's used to make coins and batteries It's alloyed to steel to make armor and parts to machines its atomic number is 28 and its atomic weight is 58 This metal is hard and doesn't correde can be applied to other metals for a protective coat without this metal we wouldn't have stainless steel and trace amounts go good with a meal it helps transport O2 in our blood And it's a coating for chrome if you're rolling on dubs a kilo of nickel can be turned into 300 of wire Oh this man you should admire

There's a element that shines silvery white
You may consider this element simple and trite
Its use are numerous
And some almost humorous
Most people handle it every day
The most common is when they use it to pay
This element is used to create stainless steel
You'll even find it in almost every meal
With a melting point of over 1,400 degrees
I'm sure you can guess this element with ease
Without a need for any stickle
I am proud to introduce my element, nickle
By Jessie Ittner

nickel my fickle my pickle it will onley cost you a nickle and then i will go take trickle with my dickle
By brennon marsh

Alas, poor nickel;
People knoweth you not!
Be thou an element?
Truly, thou sayest,
In the table periodic?
I inquired amongst the people
And thou wert known only as
Five cents, cheap!

You stick to me like metal sticks to nickel
I'm bonded to you like an ionic lattice
Electrons flow throughout you like hormones through my brain
When I see you I melt like metal does in heat
You can melt me like margarine
And then you make me scream...
WE'RE LEAVING!!!

There’s an element that’s very important to us
All these different uses we need to assess
Discovered by a Swede named Axel
He was looking for copper when he found nickel
It means “Old Nick” which refers to the devil
This truly was a very unique and diverse metal
A lot is believed to have come from a meteor
If you add it to glass it will give a green color
It’s used to make coins and rechargeable batteries
It’s alloyed to steel to make armor and parts to machines
Its atomic number is 28 and its atomic weight is 58… point 7
This metal is hard and doesn’t corrode
Can be applied to other metals for a protective coat
Without this metal we wouldn’t have stainless steel
And trace amounts go good with a meal
It helps transport O2 in our blood
And it’s a coating for chrome if you’re rolling on dubs
A kilo of nickel can be turned into 300 of wire
So many purposes oh this man you should admire
