Germanium

If you look on Group 4 and Period 14,
There is an element to be seen.
It has the atomic number 32
And is part of the metalloid crew.
The symbol for it is Ge
And named after Germany.
It can increase an alloy’s response to precipitation
Hardening and put into infrared vision
Systems. Its colors are grayish-white;
Same crystal structure as a diamond.
Silicon is its group and
Germanium has a shining sight.

Germanium

Germanium don’t frown you are a winner
You’re surrounded by tin a fake silver and Arsenic a dangerous killer

Have faith in yourself don’t strive to be like the wanna be and crook
Mendeleev had faith well until you got took.

He wasn’t mad too much it just made everyone see.
What he was saying the whole time there was an element missing from the periodicity.

When we found you, you were our fix
We had an idea you were around but you didn’t show up til1886

Germanium don’t frown things worked out for the best
You have a neighbor who is used to make women’s fake breast

If that don’t make you happy I don’t know what can
Oh yeah I forgot you were discovered by a German.
(Just kidding)
By Jermaine

The molecules of Germanium look
Much like the H20 molecules grouped in a tray in my freezer
The high-school chemistry i took
Made me think about how my computing's done easier
Silicon gets mostly all the fame
While you sweet Germanium gets almost none
But semi-conducting is your game
And your semi-metallicness makes it done
Silicon is more common
Whilst you are lots more rare
And from your sources it was dawn'in
That you're under the soils bare
So Germanium is my element
That makes my computer run
And is my personal filament
Because Germanium's number one!

Germanium In My Garden

Oh silicon-like element
So gray and brittle is your bent.
You're rather dull, but don't despair..
For something magic's in the air:

Remove the first M from your name
And life will never be the same;
Voila, although it may sound silly,
Now you're pretty, pink and frilly.
