Chlorine

People use chlorine for many reasons.
It is used during all of the seasons.
It is used to purify the water in our cities,
Now here's a little more about chlorine if you please.
You may have heard that it is used for the pool.
This is what makes it such a good tool.
At its normal state, chlorine is a yellow-green gas,
Which can irritate the lungs and give you a rash.
Chlorine is a halogen that is found in group seventeen
And is in period three as you have seen.
Lastly, chlorine is highly reactive.
For these reasons, I think it is a tool that helps us live!
By Kylor Messmer

my name is chlorine,
i was discovered by Scheele,
in 1774AD,
my atomic number is 17,
but i dont exist in a free elemental
state in nature,
Chlorine you make my dreams,
being in the clear blue water,
Oh chlorine your so green,
but at the same time your so clean,
thats why i love the being with you
in the pool filled with my favorite element
Chlorine.
By Julian Salgueiro

Swimmin' in the pool during summer time,
splashin' the cute guy in a chair,
bein' an idiot tryin' to move closer,
Fallin' in the pool and gettin soaked,

The chlorine in my hair,
turnin' it green,
tannin' in the sunshine,
Burnin' a whole in my skin

I love the summer time,
sittin' on the beach,
relaxing in the sunshine,
Runnin' in the sand,

I love the beach,
the waves knockin' me over,
Playin' in the sand with sandcastles,
under the umbrella.

I love the pool,
the diving board on the end,
gettin' out the ladder,
gettin out of the clear blue water.

I love the clear blue water,
the clear blue water
filled with my favorite element,
Chlorine.

Chlorine

From the pool, and later my pores, you exude
To remind me of my filth.
Yet associated with flowing energy
I cherish your acute fragrance.
By Sheila Plemich

Oh, Chlorine!

Dangerous water-bound germs,
Are ready to pounce,
Add some friendly granules,
Swimming's safe this summer!

Surrounded by a green cloud,
Healthy bodies breathe in,
filling their lungs with poison,
Death is long and painful.

A large, reddish stain,
An horrible imperfection,
Soak in some bleach
White is restored.

Mischievous particles,
Float into the sky,
Eat into the atmosphere,
Destroying the ozone.

Chlorine

And who would have guessed that the watery blue
Of the pool where you frolicked away,
Would have caused you such pain and such suffering,
As you cried all the stinging away?

But his eyes were as blue as a swimming pool,
And his touch was as gentle as rain
So you'd never have known or imagined
That his loving could cause you such pain.

Funny isn't it?
That little shit
Drowned, dead
In his own vomit

Fear Of Chlorine

Great big tub with blue forbidding walls
School and children and high excitement
Freezing in smalls at the arrival of water

Enticement and the promise of joy
A smell like a young boy being scrubbed
and polished and generally admonished

Splashing and leaping and diving and running

I stood in the corner shaking

The smell was overwhelming
