it even helps when blood clots wont leave you alone
we need it everyday and never get enough of it
milk adds and commercials make people want to love it
when blood calcium levels drop
the vital mineral is borrowed from the bones to make it stop
and raise it back up
at room temperature it's solid
the element classification?
a metal is what you'd call it
4.2% of the earths crust is this element
not enough calcium is taken because we are all too negligent
to our bodies
it can be combined with copper lead and aluminum
also with magnesium and beryllium
its an alkaline earth metal
we'd all be so much more healthy if we didn't digest so little |

Calcium, an element that’s not unknown,
Is found in milk and helps build a strong bone.
It’s a chemical element that is solid;
With the symbol Ca it is not squalid.
Calcium appears as silvery white
And although it’s soft it puts up a fight.
It’s located in group two, period four
And is an element you cannot abhor.
Calcium, in Latin meaning Lime,
Was found by Ancient Romans early in time.
It was isolated in 1808

Calcium's a reactive metal,
When placed in water its bubbles don't settle.
Calcium is soft and white,
It burns in a flame with a bright red light.
The international symbol is Ca,
When turned into oxide it is white/grey.
1808 is the date of discovery,
It was found by the great Sir Humphrey.
With pH of 8 it's a purpley blue,
Sir Humphrey Davy found Magnesium too.
The atomic mass is 40.078,
At room temperature, solid is its state. |

It helps in different ways to me and you

It is not found in cucumber
I like this metal it is very nice,

I am kind of grey but very soft
I am short, not very tall
I am brittle and not strong
But when I bond I create the world
From humans to the towers around the world
A guy named Humphrey Devy
Separated me from my family
And gave me a new name from lime
To calcium unfortunately
I am a constant guest I never leave
Your stomach and your chest
You consume me everyday
From your milk, cheese, and hay
I help your bones become
Less brittle and more like stones.
If your look for me
You will see that I am an earth alkali
With the symbol Ca
And the number twenty

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall.
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.
All the King's chemists
And all the King's chums
Couldn't repair his calcium.
Picked up the pieces, each shard of shell.
Finished their work before it started to smell.
Cremated the albumen
Along with the yoke,
Believe it or not, it hadn't even broke.
Placed all the pieces in a small Easter basket.
Humpty lay shattered on straw in his casket.
During the service
The mood was placid.
When it was finished, dissolved Humpty in acid.

Calcium's very versatile,
It strengthens bones and lights your smile.
It's needed by each living creature,
Plant and animal, form and feature.
Of the earth's crust, it's three percent;
Used to make plaster and cement.
This silvery hard element, CA,
Is special in another way:
It shares it's abbreviation
With Canada, our neighbor nation.
And how could we forget, it's true,
That California's CA too.
(Maybe that's the explanation

Beneath the skin of seas,
a coral labyrinth, essence of milk.
Our skeletal frame of limestone shows through as white teeth.
A vitamin supplement standing proud amid C, D, and B7.
Still it hides within our water,
stealing our soapy bubbles.
Waiting for the wrath

often times your overlooked- not important they say

Now we have formed a compound!
Split those atoms;
splice those genes.
We can now build a new machine.
