"TIDES TOWARDS YOU"
To break the peace
>From her, and all pretense I flee
She came to me
Like the last few days
I've spent here without you
Wondering
What I have to do
To be loved
And in many ways
I've bent tides towards you
Flooding
'Til I never see
I was loved
To break the peace
>From her, and all the rest I flee
She came to me
>From her, and all her love -
She came to me.
"HUNDRED HYMNS"
Rain down on me
Your songs of sadness
With sweeping seas that pound us
Deep into the earth
Where beasts in black may find us
Living patiently
Throw down to me
Your gems of sorrow
With wisdom void and hollow
Deep beneath the land
Where creatures calmly follow
Very patiently
In the dirt and the shade I'll wait for you
In the dirt and the shade I'll wait for you
Rain down on me
Your hundred hymns
The resonate reckoning
Seeps into the earth
Where thoughtful beasts are beckoning
So patiently
Throw down to me
Your eyes of longing
With all that's pure belonging
Deep within the land
Where creatures sing that song and
Gather patiently
In the dirt and the shade I'll wait for you
In the dirt and the shade I'll wait for you
Your hundred hymns
In the sea of verse where I swim
Singing
Bringing
Another grand beginning
In the dirt and the shade I'll wait for you
And the hurt that I save is lost with you
In the dirt and the shade.
"FAR"
I kneel down
On a retreating tide
Blue dune racing
I can't feel my eyes
Far horizon
Pressed across my face
I can't see you
But I know you wave.
Unknown ascends before me
Innominated breath
So I chase your smile
To the sweetest crest.
And there'll be no rest.
I lay back
On the recoiling wind
White sea dancing
I can't feel the end
Far horizon
Burns my face, so bare
I can't hear you
But I know you're there.
Unknown ascends before me
Innominated breath
So I chase your smile
To the sweetest crest.
And there'll be no rest.
A nameless heart before me
Innominated face
And a trail of tears
To your precious place.
Oh nameless heart, adore me
And elevate your breath
So I see you there
On the sweetest crest.
And there'll be no rest -
Until I reach you there.
"BY THE APPROACH OF RETREAT"
Tunnel towards you
With tears to award you
Though eyes do adore you
I cannot afford you
Your love is dear
But still, I approach you
Bounding upon you
I need something from you
Though you, I belong to
I cannot live on you
Your love is dear
But still, I approach you
Your love is far
But still I will journey
And carry my faith to the last
Your love has gone
But still I will follow
Until my desire has past
Until expectation has fled
Until I’m retreating instead
Channel towards you
With tears to restore you
And life as it pours through
I cannot ignore you
Your love is dear
But still, I approach you
Chasing the line to
Reach where I feel you
And with nothing by you
I cannot succumb too
Your love is dear
But still, I approach you
Your love has slipped
But still I am guided
To carry my faith to the last
Your love has died
But still I remain here
Until my desire has past
Until expectation has fled
Until I’m retreating instead
Until optimism has failed
Until by your last breath I sail
To the furthest sea of my retreat
Your love is
Your love is
Your love is
Unattainable
"OTHER ROOM"
Is my voice too loud?
Does it stab your ears over a restive crowd?
If not, say so - that's if I hear you
I want your attention spat onto me
I'll wear fluorescent eyes you can see
Take my word, and adhere to
But while I'm waiting for incompetence to comfort me
You awake and overtake me
And if I sat here any longer in my low esteem
You'd lose me - like you do, temporary
Here, in my only room
I am a winner
A man of just a prosperous few
In any other room
I am a window
And you can see right through
Are my eyes too bright?
Do they fill your head with an uneasy light?
Let them die out before you face me
I want your wording lost in a scream
I'll be the hero placed in your dream
Don't think you can just erase me
But as I stand here fighting for a fence to balance me
You debate and devastate me
And if I wanted any more of my despondency
I'd stay the same - like permanency
Here, in my only room
I am a winner
A man of just a prosperous few
In any other room
I am an exit
And you can walk right through
And you can leave me when you're through

Biographical sketch: To offer a biographical sketch, I would
require more words than permitted, because writing for me is a passion
and not merely an interest. I'm creative and analytical, and that should
suffice.
djmoore recommends:
Shakespeare's Sonnets by William Shakespeare
Reason: There is no greater poet than Shakespeare, however
contrived or conformist that may sound. He handles and delivers words
like they've been spoken for the very first time, like they are his
own. He brings new meaning and depth to what words can offer all of
us.
Recommendations for writers:
When writing poetry, write about what you know, because your position
of authority will bring clarity and greater meaning. Don't adhere to
"rules" of poetry, write how you "feel" not how you've been told. So
don't listen to me.
