burn brighter

i am in this place in this place where all can see
death slowly becomes you and me
i am in this place where i belong
yet knowing that i am always wrong
and i soon become one with what i feel

Right Here

it always seems so right for me to say
i see light coming through blue stained glass
when you look at me this way
beautiful dreamer, wake up to me
let the night fade away and the morning come

The Tsunami Flight

After celebrating the Christmas night
People slept with a great delight
But suddenly came the Tsunami Flight
And turned many's delight to their last night
Arrogant water from the heat of the sea

Anger, the Drug

So quickly anger arises
Calm one moment
In rage the next
A problem the size of a toothpick
Breaks the back
And turns to the size of a mountain
All sense is lost
Satan grabs hold and runs

In The Space Between

This waiting is a wretched ache, a wringing of my heart
Oh mercy, pray forbid delay of Water's coursing chart
Renewing every bend in clean, this Flood I know shall be

I AM JUST A POET

He buttons up his trousers and walks
Out of the city broth. The sun has set,
Walks out across the street and steps
Into the pub, then drives back home.

Night.
Windows closed.
Doors bolted.

My Touch

My Touch

To a loved family member…
a caress, a touch
A loving hand on ones knees
Can convey e’er so much
Just a soft gentle squeeze

To a child….
A finger’s soft glide

Real Heroes

Real heroes conduct their lives
in the way Jesus would applaud.
Never themselves do they laud,
but turn the conversation
to their buddies, to others,
and what great things

guy forks sat around the bonfire

The blazing fire
Crackling away, and drifting astray
The intense heat makes you perspire
Flames cascading higher
Ever changing and mesmerising shapes

Here's to the Hero's or Life's a Bitch

Here’s to the everyday heros
The ones workin 9-5’s…6'S, 7's & 8’s
The ones who drive across cities
From home to work and back again
Trying not to be late

Sublime fall moment

I stand outside,

Being pelted by

A rain-shower

Of brightly-colored leaves,

Falling, floating, twirling.

I don't care

if they land on my hair.

I'd like to take them all inside.

What I need

I don’t need a fancy house
A little shack will do
I don’t need front row seats
As long as I have a view

I don’t need designer shirts
Nor do I need an Armani tie

Footprints In The Sand. (Villanelle)

As we tread softly, our foot prints in the sand
Feelings, deep in my heart, of true love divine
Soft kisses bestowed, upon a trembling hand.
