The atoms that make up
The molecular construction of ink
The ink that forms
The obscure form of each letter
The letters that make up
The distinct meaning of each word
The word choices that develop
The profound meaning of a phrase
The poem that sings in my heart
And forces electrons to race erratically
Throughout my being

The ink… The letters...
The words… The phrases...
The poem… ...YOU ...and me

We are nothing but
Electrons protons and neutrons
That form the atoms
That individually
We cannot see

Yet here we are...
And here is my poem
I am the poem
The poem is me

We are more alike
Than we are different

This big gap is filled with
Trillions of atoms we cannot see
There is power in numbers
Just ask any ol’ atom

If lil’ ol’ atoms can gather together
To do all this
Just think what we could do
If we could get on the same page
