Who are we?

My actions are the mirror of my heart
And what I do to others makes my soul.
But myopic, narrow gaze can wreck at start
The chance of growing to a greater whole.

Sometimes we think we look without
But see projections of live fantasy.
We do not like to linger long in doubt
Fearful of what true sight will make us see.

We love a person whom we do not know.
we fit them to a picture in our mind
and if the fit is wrong we feel a blow
As if the world itself has been unkind.

We must do work to help us truly see.
Peerception is the road to victory.

Sea to See

Kate,

We are in the spring of our life. There is evidence all around us: colors blooming, skies lined with rain, and new birth vibrant in our minds.

I marvel at the way we learn to love. I have learned a lot about love through poetry. How absolute is the power of loving someone we have never met. With the reflective power of the mind and the spiritual nature of the heart, we can carry the spirit to each other.

Perception, peer ception, is only one facet of our vision. Yes, we could be hurt by our imagination, and want of good will.

Love is our ability to focus on what is good, kind, compassionate. We all fall short and our divine mind can learn to forgive and receive each other.

Your poetry always leads me to drink and see the colors of my reflection and yours.

Love is such a beautiful sea to see.

I hope it doesn' t sound very moralistic

Dear Kathy
and you are dear as you have ba beautiful mind.I do think that perception is very important and we are mislead by fantasy which we are unaware of.but how we can change is hard to know because it can be very painful to seee our flaws and our loved ones' flaws too.Writing may help as with luck we may tap into deeper wisdom
And writing is so lovely,I'd do it even if n obody read it but it's great to know you have read it and been affected.love,Kate

Morality Plays

Kate,

You do not sound moralistic ... although I was thinking today that movies with morals to them ... help teach compassion.

Your art is a good sounding board for people that care enough to think long and hard enough.

I agree, adults that are always blaming their childhood for their problems have not discovered themselves yet.

I would write ... even if nobody read it too ... it seems to help me focus ... and I see that it helps you too.

Well wishes from the sunshine state, Florida,

Kathy :)
