Won't Let Go

No matter the minutes that pass by
Or the moments I know are gone
The memories we won't be making
Or the foundation we'd built our dreams on

No matter the hours that pass by
Or the days that follow so slowly
The dead of the night when it's worse
On my shoulders, the burden - being lonely

No matter the weeks that pass one by one
And turn into months, coming, going
In so many ways a reminder of once
When in our eyes only love was showing

It has turned to tears and endless pain
To heartache, sorrow, countless dreaded nightmares
Showing nothing, no one needs to know this
It's been a year and I don't care

Knowing, remembering how much we'd been through
Loving you, missing you, needing you so
Years might pass, we'd grow old and weak
Yet inside remains this love that won't let go

Today I stand tall, admitting relenting
Can't say goodbye but won't let you know
Deep inside my very heart, there you are
Not til I die will I let you go...

There are many poems along

There are many poems along this same line. This one is one of the better. It's simplicity gives it great feeling and power.

Nice Work
