Screen Savers… Not Love Saviors

Said a stranger to a stranger…
Does it need to be so strange
Spilling words across a paper
Filling boxes on a screen

Comfort behind these cyber fences
Protected, inspected… sometimes redirected
Drawing conclusions from computer illusions
We accept what becomes a truth
We try to believe what we hope to believe
But find it is not always a reality

Upon the screen we can be anything
Anyone, anywhere, anything can be shared
Lies, truths, wishes that didn’t come true
It’s so easy to do, to be, to ignore, to implore
But too often the lies are caught when we open that door
Don’t yourself become the fool
Believing all spilling – even the drool

We claim we’re so busy… no time to go out
We build a relation based on someone’s own clout
Accepting too often the truth they exhale
Finding more often it is the lies that prevail
Be happy for friendships, be open to share
But blindly believing, to yourself is not fair
There are many about us that really don’t care
Online they are the hunter; at home they’re the hare
Vice versa perhaps… don’t be fooled by their flair
Never build your opinion on a web based deduction
Never blindly accept what a stranger is conducting

Believe in yourself and believe in your worth
Fancy words and web pages should be accepted only as flirt
As a deserving desire, sustenance should be inspired
Don’t release before meeting, don’t fall without a touch
Protect your potentials and understand what it means
Words in a website, fancy strokes in an e-mail
Its still just spillage on an emotionless screen
Anyone can be anything in this cyber reality
Acceptance should never be granted, respect must be earned
Don’t get yourself burned!
