When the chasing
stops, the yearning starts
or is it the other way around?
When the fox eats the chicken
does he miss her when she is gone?
Are marbles really lost
and found in mason jars?
A poem is not a judgment
like "hang him till he is dead!"
nor a pillow full of feathers
where you nest your hairless head
nor a sky full of smashed potatoes
nor a slice of buttered bread, is it?
The cupboard of the camper
is empty now.
