Turn your heart away from spirit toward flesh?
That your will becomes an unholy ghost?
Let self and sin collide until they mesh?
There is no need for drink when life is fresh
Avoid at all costs what you hear from most
“Turn your heart away from spirit toward flesh.”
For some it does not cause the mind to thresh
Yet others soon lift up their glass and toast:
“Let self and sin collide until they mesh!”
Spirit gone, a soul is an empty plesh
Until the host can only drink and boast:
“Turn your heart away from spirit toward flesh.”
The thirst for more than one drink can refresh
Screams in the dark from known to unknown coast
“Let self and sin collide until they mesh!.”
Drink believes that its lost way is the best
And will write on your stone this final post
“Turn your heart away from spirit toward flesh
Let self and sin collide until they mesh!.”

Wiz man,
I have been trying to get the Grapevine to allow poems to be entered. Here are the contacts. Maybe drop them a line. Your poems should be there.
Here are the contacts:
regionalforums@aa.org Rick W.
ee@aagrapevine.org Robin B.
Hi, Ron,
Rick W. forwarded your question to me. Not publishing poetry has been the Grapevine's policy since 1944, when the first issue of the magazine was published. However, you are the first to suggest an online poetry forum. So I would like to give the staff and the Grapevine's Editorial Advisory Board a chance to discuss it. The Editorial Advisory Board meets mid January and we will present the idea to them then.
Thanks
