La Tarantella. Sonnet

The Orchestra strikes a merry note, in sunny Italy,
Peasants pick olives, gather grapes from the vine
The moon takes the place, of the days hot haze
Nights ventured forth, showing stars in the sky.
And they have harvested, the last, of the fruits,
Peasants then retire, then only, the fun begins,
This is the time, to eat, drink, and make merry,
Orchestra`s strike a merry note, dancing begins,
Dancers and partners, enter a large crowded hall
Making a clearing, for the first to take the floor
Dancing the night away, with strength and vigour.
Flying feet of flames, in perfect rhythmic timing,
The orchestra struck a final note, all is at an end
Of a nations favourite dance, La Italiano Tarantella.
