Stranger
fair, fair, thy face and form
and graced by glorious rainbows all about
yet whose this soul, oh stranger’s soul
that lieth there within thy breast
and there doth molder and decay
and shun the smallest spark of truth
far darker thou than moodraught night
than universe abandoned now
of planet, star and heaven’s glow
encased thou art in beauteous wrap
soft, shallow alabaster skin
framed in coil of silken shroud
of lovely, lovely raven hair
‘tis mockery of love yea life
thou makest with deceitful smile
and spill thy words of soured wine
into my waiting cup
farewell, adieu
and not for moment’s lapse
in permanence goodbye
thou felon of the laws of love
reviled of honor’s brightest code
in soiled garments hide thy face
farewell

''fair, fair, thy face and form
and graced by glorious rainbows all about
yet whose this soul, oh stranger’s soul
that lieth there within thy breast''.....so beautiful....I also loved the middle stanza....nice work!..peace.

The "other" level...
Hello Ron,
I disagree about that 'other level' in poetry.
We who are blessed with the curse of poetry are equals, all that we pen coming from the heart, and from hard won insight and experience. Your writing is marvelous, and I respect and admire you for sharing it with the world.
I am an uneducated person, thus I catch hell from some of the upper echelon poets for my inability to adequately punctuate or follow other arbitrary 'rules' of writing.
I say phooey! Just keep on writing.
Thank you friend,
Regards,
William LameBull

with thumbing my nose at those who choose to degrade. I to am so glad for spell check. You humility is most admirable and I thank you for your gracious compliment. I look forward to reading more of your poetry.
