i fumble and tumble
with these fingers so fat
i type out the word "vat"
when i mean to say "cat"
makes my writing insane
and so crazy like that
a slave to my typos
a technical dingbat?!*@

my mind runs asunder
all through rivers and streams
adrift on a pink cloud
i ponder all my dreams
when sat at my keyboard
it's not quite what it seems
"flower" is a "glower"
and a "gleam" is a "fleam"?!*@

put on my big glasses
and try to look so smart
a creature of culture
a fan of such fine art
try to seem a scholar
but i sound like a tart
hard to hit a bullseye
when a "dart" is a "fart"!?!*@

my mind always ticking
but my fingers do stray
and all common sense yes
soon starts running away
i do know damn well, man
what i'm trying to say
but my fingers giggle
as they come out to play!?!*@

and "love" becomes "lobe"
and then "hiss" subs for "kiss"
how can i find romance
with such nonsense as this?
who knew a dumb keyboard
could destroy all my bliss?
when i type "bug" for "hug"
my passion's soon amiss!?!*@

i leave you to ponder
these thoughts on my big head
of poems bout what should be
and bout what is instead
where "beaches" are "geaches"
and then "red" becomes "fed"
