i draw upon my world...
i took this big fat marker
that i bought at the dollar doozy store
and i used it to draw myself
the perfect little life
the first thing that i drew
after struggling and swearing
to remove it from its
tight plastic wrapper
was a little pink puppy
to follow me around and play
to growl and yap
and grab my pant leg
and do all those crazy things
that crazy puppies do
i name him cedwick
so cedwick and i we
took a little walk down the sidewalk
on our way home from the store
and we looked all around
at the vast assortment of people
that had cluttered my little world
look! there's a little hobo
digging...quite frantically
through the trash
and i took my little marker
and i drew for him
a brand new suit i did
and a thousand dollar bill
(is there such a thing?
there is now!)
which he grabbed
with his hot little clutches
eyes all bugged out
with dollar signs in them
he thanked me kindly
cedwick barked
and he ran around in circles
"that wasn't too hard"
i said to the dog as i smiled
i then looked at all
that yucky smelly black smog
that was shooting out of the chimneys
of the dirty ole factory
and i shook my head
"this will not do!"
so i took my marker
yes i did
and i drew bubbles
over the smelly smog
little pink bubbles
and i put zebra stripes
all over the gray factory chimneys
soon the whole world smelled
just like fresh bubble bath
a world of daisies!
cedwick tried to catch the bubbles
in his sharp little teeth
we came upon a man
and a woman involved in a very
very heated argument
he was pushing her
and shoving her
and she didn't like it
no not at all
so i pulled out my pen
and i drew a big
big hot air balloon
and i drew a rope
and i tied him up
inside of it
and he flew away
off off off into the heavens!
never to be heard from again
the woman cheered
and called me "superman"
and gave me a little
bitty kiss on the cheek
ok so i blushed a bit
and the puppy licked her toes
i looked at the poor side of town
where i live
and at all the ramshackle old buildings there
falling apart everyhwere
rats and roaches and all sorts
of fun little critters
and i drew over them
a giant pretty pink palace
where we all could now live
i turned the rats into
mighty pink stallions
to pull chariots
that the horsemen
who were once roaches
would now steer
and i drew cages around all
the drug dealers
and hoodlums who had ruled us
with fear for so long
and had them carried away
by giant pink eagles
who took them off
way off over the mountains
far far away
perhaps they could learn
a new skill there
be more productive
"right cedwick?"
so i picked up my little puppy
and i looked at the new palace
and at all the beautiful people
dancing about with their children
and a happiness they
had never known before
new clothes new lives
new food new beds
and i waved to them all
and they waved back
and i entered the mansion walls
that were open to all
with golden pink hearts
and found myself a room
with a giant pink bed
and i settled on in all warm and snuggly
with cedwick nibbling at my toes
and i drew a big ole moon
right over my bed
and whispurred "night mother..."
and went to sleep

imagination
You really do have a fantastic imagination. This one reminds me of a children's book in a way.
I like pink
pink is a very comforting color, alluring as well (depends on where it is). Very imaginative piece and a joy to read. Wouldn't it be nice if it were that easy to change the problems with the world?!~Ron

That would be so nice, Ron...
it could be that easy...Personally, I'd like to think that, somewhere, in this vast universe of ours, there is a pen that can cross out all the unnecessary pain and suffering in the world. Who knows? Maybe someday we'll find it.
Thanks for all the kind words!
Yeah...I see what you mean...
If I took out the drug dealers, it kinda could be a children's book, I suppose! Thanks for all the awesome compliments!
