casual observations from across a crowded cafe

across a crowded cafe
i see them sitting there
sipping cappuccino
or some such coffee drink
a man and a woman conversing
perhaps a first date?
they seem a little jittery...uneasy
in each other's company
the woman keeps pushing
her beatiful long hair back
away from her eyes
which she is batting frantically
the man is tapping his fingers
on the table sneaking
the occassional glimpse
at his watch
he steals a few glances at her
and she knows it and blushes a bit
the woman smiles at him and nods her head
she chuckles a bit
he smiles back, blows on his coffee
takes a sip
then nods his head
could this be love in bloom?
he says something...
using a lot of wild arm gestures
she laughs out loud
reaches for her napkin
and pats her lips softly
then she sticks her hands
out on the table in front of her
and she looks directly at him
and she smiles
and then the man laughs again
and he puts his hands
on top of her hands
and they quietly stare for a few
into each other's beautiful young eyes
and he leans in and he kisses her gently
and i see this...and my heart skips a bit
and my elbow hits my own
coffee flavored drink
and it knocks it into my lap

and i decide not to be so nosy anymore.

ha!

It's hard not to be. Why are stranger's lives so interesting? I don't know. But they are.

i'm just nosy that way...

I like to watch strangers in a crowd and make up stories for them in my head. Is that stalking?
Take care,
Mark
