In The Blink of an Eye

In The Blink of an Eye
................................

Breeze blew over
my body that night
Silently standing
within the twilight

Looking up
toward the stars
my mind wandered near
and then wandered far

Thinking of a place
I didn't want to be
Lost deep
in a dark society

Tears fall down
I bend my knee
and wondered why
I could not see

The ache in my heart
grew so very heavy
with thoughts
of madness
that swirled like
on so many
nights
before

Tormenting me
as I walked out
that door

Drowned in anger
and deep despair
Calling out
but no ones there

With heavy heart
sinking into sadness
I do perceive
that life for such as I...

is over now
in the blink of an eye.

do I see light?

Seems to me there is little darness here, at least the light prevails (the way I see it, the remorse is evident) wonderful pen, this is a very enjoyable read, good flow and great emotion! BRAVO!

unheard

This is a really sad poem, feeling your life is over. Calling out and not being heard. Sad but I liked it :(
