Bouquets of Grief

Bouquets of Grief

By Uriah Lee Hamilton

Tears fall
Like flower petals
Softly to the ground,
The bouquets of grief.

In the mirror
My lonely eyes
Are gazing prayers
In the wordless void.

People who love me
Drift away in the emotional farewells
Beyond human control.

I don’t know
If anyone special
Ever returns.
