One Bell Now Tolls

The shadows lengthen and darkness is near
my time has come ..... but I feel no fear
My soul has hardened and my spirit is weak
It's not the night .......but, rest that I seek
Time has wounded ...left scars over me
In absence of light ... when no one can see
Thoughts embrace me ... one bell now tolls
from the clock on the wall to the depths of my soul
the words now scribed, tis given to me
I take no comfort in who I must be,
From whence comes the light this darkness to take
a stark revelation to soon I must make
and on the pages that tears now do stain
of who will go and who remains
who now is chosen to flee this night
be it all wrong or be it all right
as dust to the wind ..... cast lots o'er my soul
and wonder not "for whom the bell tolls"
for now is my time ...... this night I must flee
one day to be your time, "It will toll for thee"
