If you could
If you could live your life again, would you build something to last
or maybe take that bridge too far, and try change the past
Those hurtful words you might have said, to loved ones thru the years
you'd like to say I'm sorry and wipe away their tears
The spiteful deeds and little lies from oh so long ago
thinking no one would notice, the memories how they grow
small things you took, they'll not be missed, you know you did not earn
They're all gone, lost or old, they cannot be returned
Those words flew out, the speed of sound, forgiven but not forgotten
tears were cried, now healed with time, the hearts that once were broken
The spiteful deeds and little lies done so long ago
remembered still, those bitter seeds, forever will they grow
The things you took you can't forget, that haunt you from the past
all these seem so worthless now, the time flew oh so fast
the spiteful deeds, done at the time, now seem so very cruel
what's done is done and we all go on, Life is one long school
Your life, it is now set in stone, time lost, well that must be
that bridge to far, not far enough, for it to set you free
you can't turn back the hands of time, with these things you need not live
For sin Christ died the slate is wiped, all things God can forgive.
