Ocean of Dreams

Never have I seen the ocean's beauty,
Nor tasted of the salt that it contains.
I'm certain that the sandy shores would suit me,
And the crashing waves would wash away my pain.
One day I'll make a journey to the sea,
And lay my weary head upon the sand.
And there I'll find a little part of me,
To add to the demeanor of the man.
My fear is that I'll find it there, too late,
When old age has risen like the tide.
"I'll look upon myself and curse my fate,"
And drop a tear for all my dreams that died.
The sea will always be there, constantly,
But we are not as constant as the sea.
