Here I stand
In the darkness of the night,
The flames surround me
In a wealth of loneliness.
The heat fresh against my flesh,
Fire burning deep into my eyes,
Looking out the window,
Longing for what waits outside.
I live inside a house on fire,
Burning to be on the inside
Of what lies beyond my reach.
Too long I have been caged in,
Kept on the outside of love.
Too long my house has been falling,
My world shattering all around me,
Cutting deep into my heart and soul.
Let me escape these flames closing in,
Let the tears from my eyes wash away the pain,
Let me out into the world I wish for,
Let me walk into the inside of love.
