This is a triple co-write, or as I call it a tri-write, with two very talented poets I have been blessed enough to have met. When I was asked to participate I was once again honored and humbled so a huge thanks to Lycan and Retribution101 for their continued encouragement and support. This write was different because of the format we used to accomplish it. He sent her 5 words which she had to make use of. She in turn sent me 5 words which I included and I sent him 5 and so forth and so on...so hope you enjoy the finished product.

Fighting to maintain clarity
on this harrowing journey,
I venture closer to the precipice
fingers outstretched
ever eager to capture
each distinctive jewel,
Just beginning to sparkle
in crepuscular skies.

How invulnerable
they must feel
knowing they are out of reach
their mischievous dance
a whimsical flirtation
to my delicate mind
trapped here
in my oubliette.

A wondrous temptation
Is the jewel of hope
I yearn,
as love imbues my soul
I float from my cave alive
and capitulate in happiness
with tribulations left behind.

Shaken out of my
Catatonic comfort,
still skeptical that my solitude
was detrimental,
I insinuate myself deeply
into the blackening night sky.
Proud of my courage
I become hopelessly lost
in a world of possibility.

Like a serpent shedding skin
the morality I've lived by
peels away
a great expanse
of truth revealed.
No longer shackled
by the glowering gaze of
my captor, my jailer, myself
I attack this new found freedom
a vendetta being waged
a twinkle sent from heaven
the catalyst for
my peace of mind.

With my angelic air of freedom
coursing through my veins
the fringe of my enslavement
is nothing more than a speck
I can barely see now,
So with staunch vigour
I remain remarkable
And exist now with valour.
