Everlasting darkness
envelopes me.
My most comforting blanket.
Like the lonely beacon floating
in the deepest recesses of the sea,
Alone I wait....
hoping for a ship to pass,
if only for an instant,
to shatter my loneliness...
like glass
thrown against a wall.
Clang! Clang!
my excitement extols.
Jostled by
her tender touch of waves.
She passes by
on the fiery horizon
of approaching dawn.
Clang! Clang!
my despair,
like cries from gulls above
scream out.
"Don't leave!"
