The Hereafter
Let's not pretend life goes on forever,
Though we wish it would,
It's short and sweet,
And meant to be treasured.
Life is a wonderful thing,
But eventually we all must die.
Lift is a beautiful gift,
The ultimate pleasure,
The ultimate high,
So make the most of it,
Before you die.
Eventually our time will run out,
And our lives will no longer matter...
But please don't cry,
Please don't shed a tear,
When I'm no longer here for you to remember.
Rejoice in this,
Though you miss my laughter,
And my smiling face,
I've found my place in the hereafter.

Thank you both for your comments. Don't know where this came from. I was working on something altogether differant when the words to this piece suddenly came to mind.
Yes, Linda...I wanna stay 4ever!
So, Gloria...your insured for 200, huh??? Wanna get married? You sound like a great catch. My last 14 wives were insured for a lot less than that {hey, they don't call me Bluebeard for nothin' ya know!}
LOL
Just kidding. Have a great day, ladies. Thanks again to both of you - TJ
Sweet
Wow, that was really sweet, in a gentle way. The way you delivered it made me picture in my head soft drops landing softly on leaves--you are delivering words of a most serious nature, but yet you say to enjoy life. Maybe that's only something I can see...Just thought I'd share that with you. But yes, I really did enjoy this a lot. It was very beautiful. The last stanza is brilliant, and I also like "Lift is a beautiful gift, The ultimate pleasure, The ultimate high, So make the most of it, Before you die." Great advice I will be sure to follow. Thank you.

Life is a gift, and I enjoy waking up every morning like it's Christmas, ready to unwrap that gift.
Life
Is truely a gift!!!
A very good friend of mine died recently and days before he passed, I remember him telling me about his life and all that he'd enjoyed.
What he loved most in life was sailing and the love he had for the ladies!
I'm not muich of a sailor...but I do have a love of passion that is very intense...and quite erotic!!!
Life, afteralll, is such a short thing...and should be enjoyed to the fullest!!!
