Intonations of a Passerby

I cannot keep my thoughts from running to her
She sits quiet and serene
As reality becomes a dream
The pangs of desire interrupt my thoughts
Incessant, I am corrupt, there she is
A brisk distance away but...
I, I am positively inspired

The people's eyes, the street, sound
Even the sky is imposing- I am lonely
And the universe disturbs me
And she sits quiet and serene
Promiscuosly reading

I clear my mind, inwardly chuckle
But I find myself at a crossroads
Struggling to forget
She is just across the road
Silently reading alone

As am I, we are so alike, you and I
What thoughts reside behind
Those busy little eyes?

And then suddenly the street comes alive
The sounds collide and crash
And distract me from the interruption
That has caught my fancy

Who are you inside (Darling)?
The universe quips,
My bus arrives
Googbye my love
Forgive my lust,
I hope the sky and I
Did not impose too much
