Derisive distance
Still went the second
as the moment struck
a puzzled pose
the air stiffened,
the earth braced
itself
your domino crinkled
but the sky,
the sky knew
Is it a crime
to try and climb
into its
solitary refuge?
That angelic
space up there
above us all,
that divine mind
denies us all
it lives there
and we live here;
what more evidence
do you need?
You can pretend
like you don't see
the truth
still
I wouldn't say
its your youth thats running away
with you,
I'd say, your running away
with your youth
Back to the stiff moment,
where the stale air and hard ground
impetuously await your fall
I see you dangling
but I'm standing safely far away
from that edge,
