X Patriot
I went shopping
in the mall
with pall
the bear,-er....
i smelled flowers
in my shopping cart.
I wrote a poem
about it.
I'm sad and my wings are brokened.
even toilet paper does not comfort me.
i'm sad.
it sux being sad.
it makes me really mad
to be sad.
this building needs to be replaced,
definitely.
the superintendent
just didn't have the money for a new one.
these are DESPERATE TIMES,so please
share your thoughts on our Twitter/Facebook/Myspace account.
people can't even afford to stay in their homes.
if you can't afford to stay in your Home,
what the hell would you be doing on Twitter/facebook?Myspace???
there's more important things to worry about then that.
like this:
death deathdeath death die death death pie pie:
higher education.
why does this country
placate itself so?
We're proud to be American so FUCKING PROUD we're gonna let EVERYONE KNOW IT IN FACT WE"RE GONNA SHIT IT DOWN THEIR THROATS AND PISS IT IN THEIR FACES WHILE DAYDREAMING ABOUT STUDENT LOANS AND TWITTERING
OUR FLAG IN THE FACE OF SWEATSHOP SLAVES OUR SLAVES ARE CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET WIRELESSLY SO THEY CAN UPDATE THEIR FAMILIES ON THEIR SWEATFUCKED DEHUMANIZED STATUS.
I'm not a patriot.
I never was
and I never want to be.

Interesting Write...
Interesting write, Wanderero. Often I see postings from americans in support of the US. This had the opposite, anti-america feeling so it was something different to read and told some truthful facts (about sweatshops) which sadly is going on all over europe as well.
Debs
Hello Debs,
Thank you for taking the time to read my poem! I wrote it out of frustration of the mass media,in part.I was watching CNN reporting on something about college students having to bring their own toilet paper to school everyday because this school would not provide toiletries. And combine that with the talk of crisis and housing and recession and depression and the economic state of this country and then it's like.."well log on to CNN facebook/myspace/twitter and tell us what you think!" So I'm thinkin..since people can't afford to stay in their homes, theyre not watching CNN ANYWAY and much less do they have an internet connection !!! SO Itried to combine alot of elements as I always do in my writing..and yes sweatshops are horrible..and I just find the media so ridiculous!! As for anti-american sentiment it's not so much "anti American", I feel, but just the fact that this country is keen on just shoving its patriotism down everyone else's throats you know?
I do aprreciate the feedback Debs, thanks for reading!

Right on
I totally dig your style and the message of this. It's so refreshing to read poets that aren't afraid to be different and who tackle sensitive subjects. This piece makes me think of where America is heading. How do we continue a country built on Wal-Mart, Chinese goods, and credit card debt? And I stopped watching CNN a long time ago due to what you're talking about. Awesome write, my friend.
