The Auction Year 6

Poem Title : The Auction (Year 6) 063
Written 3/11/2007

Just another year passes and deeper in debt.
The crops had all failed, the wolf at the door,
The Wife, was still carping, with no satisfaction,
With everything sold up,the house repossessed.
Out of the box and back to the Saleroom.
The Old English Poet,he saved from the trash can.
Lot twenty nine with some other dull knick-knacks,
Two telephone bidders! Now who would believe it?
The Auctioneers voice rising high with unbridled excitement,
He had not seen the like, since Class was in Vogue,
The bidding high altitude rose, countering each others rival,
The hammer came down on Two Hundred Thousand !
