Eternally me; i'll never be

I stand in solitude in a ray of moonlight
and gaze towards the stars
I feel so small and unimportant
A small thing in the scale of the world
I long so much to reach out to them
Like small jewels, so precious in sight
I covet to hold them against my virtuous skin
But fear the damage
Caused to its otherwise unwavering beauty
The stars they remain constant taunting
Of something I will never be
Eternally shining above us
Eternally out of reach
Eternally beautiful
Eternally me
I will never be
