Love's Revenge

That summer day was bright and bold
When she squeezed sunshine from my soul
Poured it over a glass of her icy self
Drank me down slowly until nothing was left

Then she relaxed under that big willow tree
That same spot where our initials use to be
Propped her feet up on my deepest emotions
Rubbed my tears on like suntan lotion

Wiped my desires away with her sleeve
Tossed them into the summer breeze
I could hear the faint cry of the willow's weep
The song of its whimper soothes her to sleep

Dreams of love caused her to awaken
Or was it the sound of my heart breaking?
Or was it the kiss of the sun to the West
That disturbed her peaceful yet deceitful rest?

The summer heat caused her heart to melt
And for the first time she actually felt
The passion from my soul made her perspire
Drops of sweat from my desire

She feels love rumbling in her stomach
An awkward feeling; she wants to vomit
She's now left in a confused funk
Because of my sunshine that she once drunk

wow! it actually made me

wow! it actually made me cry.great work.

Really...

Sometimes when we love, the object of our desire is so unaware until it's too late.

If someone is loving you like this, the least you can do is acknowledge their affection. If you have loved like this, just remember, real love, true love, is a one way street. It is given without any expectations. Thanks for your comment.
