She asked,
“Do you prefer cream in your coffee?”
I replied,
“Never had it, although I sometimes stroke the white keys on my piano;
Just to hear how it sounds.”
I asked,
“Do you put chocolate in your milk?”
She replied,
“No, but playing dominoes without dots is such a drag!”
So we sat-
Without taste
Without touch
Without sound
But just as the Day welcomed the Night into her arms-
We made music together
Slammed dominoes together
And I,
Sipped my creamed filled coffee
And she,
Her chocolate milk.
