Perception
“I don’t like being married”
That’s what she said
“I made a forever promise.
I’m going to break it now.
Until the coming of the Kingdom
That was my solemn vow.
So sorry I can’t keep it
I just really don’t like our arrangement.
I hope we can still be friends
That’s the new depth of my commitment.
My love for you is still as strong
As that day when we were wed.
Simply not as much as I love myself
Or even having to share my bed.
I guess I didn’t realize the scope
Of what it meant to be married.
The love, the desire, the trust
What a burden must be carried.
As I said, I love you a lot
But there are things that have to come first
Myself, my work, and my family
Maybe you can come in third.
You don’t get a say, I’m sorry to say
This is what is best for me.
A divorce is coming, better get ready
This is exactly how it’s going to be.”
That’s what I heard.

Busted Ego Time For Sure
Ta2,
Man that was some hard stuff for this poor schmoe to hear from his beloved wife. I still dig you but would rather do it from a distance. Tough man, really tough.
Pete
Very tough
Yep, it was. That's why I had to get it out of me and onto paper. Thanks for the comment, Pete.
Justin
I get the words
an' then I get to thinkin'
I don't want to think, I wanna feel
How do I feel?
F!@kin' how do I...?
-Pearl Jam
Sorry
Hey man, I didn't have any idea this piece was autobiographical. Didn't mean to call you a schmoe.
Forgive me,
Pete
No worries
LOL!! No sweat, Pete. I felt (feel) like a poor schmoe a great deal these days. No forgiveness necessary but, just so you know it's cool, you're forgiven.

You can meet God in the church of your choice
You can meet Woody Guthrie in Brooklyn State Hospital
You know, it's only my opinion, I may be right or wrong
But you can find both in the Grand Canyon at sundown

I'm sorry, Ta2...
I went through the same thing. Very hard to take, I know. But you're tough and you'll get through it. Good work to be able to write it down. I wish you the best.
joyce
Waaaahhhhh!!!!!
Thank you, Joyce. I know others have been through the exact same thing but it's a whole new realm when it's you, isn't it? Experiencing it for onesself invites a whole new level of pain and sorrow. Coming across this site, and those of you on it who write, read, and comment, has been a great help. Thanks again.
Justin
Leave it all, decide to walk away
Won't you leave it all, decide to walk away
There's still time to fly
