Strings Of Darkness

Sharp daylight hid behind the veil, a whisper moaned:
Therefore, the vanquished clouds had scud with swifter pace,
Therefore, the palsied beggar picked his crooked mace.

The winged minions of breeze flapped variously,
Rambled beneath the vault, swarming confusedly.
Then fleecy darkness of the mist drew amain,
And nature felt the precincts of pain.

The dawn had achieved its avid lust,
Yet flushed angrily when night covered the dust.
Prim tall, obelisks like frail aspens shuddered.
Astonished, the amorphous scurf, admantine, rumbled.
Tall iron masts, pillars and trees, reluctant shook.
Boughs fell to earth, tall towers bent, the croaking rooks.
Deep scars the earth felt at its swardy cheek,
The distant sun behind the curtains, mild and meek.

Earth felt the pain, and said, Why mound me so, and moaned.
And men, with silent laughters, said, We’ll live alone.

Earth shook, men groaned, and moved their heads from side to side.
The croaking rooks, the babbling brooks and all beside.
In one motion, the fearful birds took their flight;
The dusky sun glowed the sky much, too bright.
Primordial night, space-starred, covert, ran at the bay,
Veiling the misty diadem of ebbing day.
Then strings of dreaded darkness tearing light unrolled.

~Mother Earth is Crying~

Sushil,

On this Thanksgiving Day, I honor Mother Earth. Under the shelter of God's loving hands I have this beautiful day and the darkness cannot rob me of this light.

Without our earth, man has no meaning. The earth defines us and our purpose. We need to draw the curtain and see what she has to offer us in each moment.

Your poetry is spiritual and filled with a passion for mankind to take notice of how we are living.

Blessings!

Kathy
