Relenting Darkness
I pray thee, release me from this faceless specter
And place me where I do not feel the insanity.
Evade me these thoughts so perverse and vile,
Take me away.
Carry me sweetly into the night,
Bring me to the place I've never believed in,
Where hope abounds me,
And the journey takes over,
Where I can be me and free to fly.
My wings are wide and my journey confined,
But determined I am to break free from my hell,
But also entitled to the life of my dreams.
The life of my dreams slowly ebbs by,
And my dreams slowly fade to darkness.
Though this darkness consumes, I beg for life.
I pray for a savior I'm not sure I agree with,
I cry for a hero I don't know is there.
This hero attempts to answer my prayer,
My prayer remains unknown to me.
I cradle my dreams in hopes to for see,
And grow,
And believe, that the unknown will bring,
Hopefully, to lead me into the light.
To take me to a place that lies within myself,
Gives me the courage to be me.
The courage to open my heart and be free.
