To a "father"

It was his choice to run away,
Bit of a coward to much to pay.
He left behind an unpaid debt,
Thats the reson we know, alot more i bet.

It wasnt very fair why did he run?
Hurt alot of people alot of damage done.
If it was a stranger it wouldnt have been so bad,
It wasnt though, it was their only dad.

He jumped on a plane for land unknown,
Left a whole family all on their own.
The kids could be thankful now that he's gone,
The still had their mother who stood by strong.

She set an example, solid as a rock,
Whenever she was needed she'd sit with them and talk.
Made everything easier, every single day,
They didnt need their dad just keep him away.

So years went on they had all settled down,
Every now and again he'd come back to town.
But that didnt matter, the kids had grown old.
Didnt want to see him for they had become bold.

I guess its his fault they coped fine on their own,
Didnt need a father, wished he'd leave them alone.
Its not they didint love him, he was still their dad,
Was the way he seemed to forget them that made them so mad.

All thats left now is a father with regret,
Has the best daughters and son a man could ever get.
Its messed up now, he's blew every chance,
When they pass in the street the barely exchange a glance!
