Wihtout You

Dah da dah da dah
goes the beating of my heart
When did this melody start?
As it dances to the song
that I've heard all along.
You play it to me when I'm down
And I drink in this tender sound
As it gives me courage and eyes to see
all the things you've done for me.
Why must fear be so cruel?
Courage as stubborn as a mule?
I want to flee,to rest in the sun
To go with my instinct, and just run.
But the song pulls me back
It gives me all that I lack
I fake a smile till it shines true
But I couldn't have done it...without You.

The Shadow of Your Smile

Abigail,

Your poetry is like a great singer, effortless and full of passion. I love the lyrical and hopeful nature of your verse.
May the music of your heart beat for all the world to hear.

Songs for the Soul

Dear Abigail,

What a great piece of lyrical inspiration! (You might want to check your spelling in the title though, changing Wihtout to Without). I can really relate to the theme of this poem right now, as you know. But 'courage is as stubborn as a mule', and your song has picked me up once more, and inspired me to go on. As I said in my comments to Kathy (regarding my poem, Farewell), I have been enjoying sitting outside, 'being still and knowing that God is God', and letting His love flow into me through the new spring sunlight, reviving me once again. God bless!

Warm regards,

Chris
