Superglue Me
My fingers are strumming out the
melody of your love that lives in me.
If I didn't have you as the compass in my veins,
I'd be as cold as the marble world we're living in.
As hot as the volcano we're feeding, and as happy
as the beast we're obeying.
Just send me some superglue,so I never lose this map.
I'll glue it to my heart,so when I think I'm lost,
I'll look within...and smile,because I'll remember
who I am,and to whom I belong. :D

God Map
Hi,
It's been a while. How are you? I really like this piece, and I especially love the first four lines. Nice ending, too. However I must admit that the reference to 'the beast' put a contrary image in my head, to what you seem to be writing about. Overall though an excellent poem - I always admire people who can write 'free verse'. Well done. Enjoy the rest of your week, take care, and best wishes.
Warmest regards,
Chris
Muddy World
Hi,thanks,I'm glad you liked it. I guess I was talking about society in general, and how a lot of the times we do things that are ungodly, and anything that is not of him, must be against him,so that would be the beast we're feeding, most of the time not even knowing it.That's just the world we're living in.It's harder and harder to sustain a pure, clean and righteous spirit when you're walking through a world of mud,for lack of a better metaphor.lol
God Bless!

Underworld
Okay, I get it now - that's cool. It reminds me of the American Indian fable about the two wolves - to cut a long story short, one is bad and one is good and they both live inside us. The boy asks his grandfather, 'Which one grows stronger?' The grandfather replies, 'The one you feed'. Well, I turned 49 yesterday (see my poem, 'My 49th Birthday' - subtle, huh? LOL), and I've gained 3 kilos since Christmas, so I definitely have to stop feeding the bad wolf in me! Ha ha. Yep, from today it's diet and exercise (both physically and spiritually). God bless.
Kind regards,
Chris :-)
Great Story
Yes! I almost referenced that Indian story in my last comment to you,so that's funny how you referenced it to me.
Yea,I think it's harder to control what I eat,so I just try to make up for it by having hardcore workout sessions occasionally. But the first step is always the hardest, but it's always worth it.=]
