You smiled, i smiled back-we connected from the start.
Reaching for the stars i tried to grab hold of your heart.
I put mine aside,- and locked it away,
meanwhile not realizing that's not how it would stay.
I disconnected from myself, my life was only you,
i tried to hide the key, but i knew you'd get right through.
Before i knew it, my heart had gone-escaped,
and as it rushed towards the heavens i knew it was my fate.
I lost you.
Now my heart lays hanging, on the crescent moon.
Depending on its few strings, i reach ever so slowly-
to coax and place it back into its dark locked room,
where it shall always stay, forever,
-lonely.
