10-22-09 I Hate the Demons Inside My Head

I hate the demons inside my head,
That tear my soul from the inside out.
Unanswered questions
Are what feeds them,
Boiling anger they keep on tap.

The demons have names
That can’t be said.
To call them out,
Draws new rage.

In my head
They cause me strife.
Turning thoughts against themselves.
When they’re here
The steal my peace.
Tormenting dreams,
Leaving what if’s in their wake
Fake images of themselves,
Fool no others but themselves.
And they are the demons in my head
I wish for the old me there instead.
