11-25-09 Buzzed Writing

Sitting to write several things at once,
With so much on my mind,
The words would not flow.
So I turn to the oldest solution there is,
I have a cold beer and take off the edge.

The first one down now, I’m feeling relaxed,
Number two and three something’s starting to flow,
Well through my thesis where does the time go?
From here on out I write with a buzz.

If it takes much longer
I will go much further,
Into the realm of inebriated expression

I could put it aside and come back tomorrow,
But now I wonder what might come out tonight
With the mixing of beer and a keyboard like this.

A fourth and a fifth,
My head becomes light.
Should I drink and write
The rest of the night?
The words that I need are swimming inside,
In a pool of cold beer,
But I’m feeling just right.

So go ahead and drink,
I’ll come back tomorrow
To straighten out the words,
And add the periods and commas,
