love.
i was once a heart attack
and you were once a paramedic
fingers tight on electric gloves
and at death's door, then we were kissing
a subtle touch and wayward glance
smote me, simple.
i am erractic and weak
to be so swayed so easily by you.
she was once a palpitation
sitting pretty in my chest
willing, i was, to allow you
close and near inside my breath
but all of our descisions amount and like train tracks
run parrallel, and never intertwine
excepet at the changeyard
where god pulls the lever and all of us shift
slowly and blindly. seeing where truth struts
an attractive and cavalier demeanour,
covering our eyes with almost tender grace
while his hands slip the noose around our throats.
