A Poet Still

Carved platypus sits atop bookcase,

Made from rare Tasmanian wood

By our dear Aussie friend --

WWII veteran of the Pacific campaign,

Devoted husband and father,

Generous friend to many,

Faithful follower of Christ.

What "puts me on another plane"

He used to say, is poetry

On eternal themes;

Reading, writing, and encouraging

Others to pursue this rewarding occupation.

I feel he is writing still,

Life made even more fruitful

By that unseen FELT Presence

So many poets know.

~Beautiful Spirit~

Sharon,

It is amazing when a beautiful spirit lingers in the poet's song. The spirit of hope brings more than words to the page, it brings joy everlasting.

Your writing is enchanting. I know the spirit you speak of. It lives and breathes when life has evaporated.

Warm regards,

Kathy

"A Poet Still"

And the kind words you offer other writers is enchanting as well--enchanting as in delightful, gratifying, so good to be on the receiving end of. You do have such a lovely Christlike spirit about you, always giving, giving. And I know God rewards you for this greatly.
Love having you as a new friend, dear Kathy.
