Tree Climbing

Come, let us climb trees.
Calling each other higher and higher,
Prompting fascination to new ethereal heights,
Forging our way through the tangle
Ascending on untrodden branches
The pressure of our feet, the test of our faith.
For we are called to walk by faith,
Not by our sight—which is ever changing as we climb.
We will look down to see
What were once considerable giants are now diminutive ants.
Overcome by our trust and assurance,
We’ll leave our problems behind.
The great expanse above our heads holds such promise,
The green verdure reaches to the heavens,
The Creator looks down from that tree, beckoning.
So why stay on earth?
Come, let us climb.
